BRIEF
SAMECA HENDRICKSON | ST THOMAS – With the end of the fiscal year fast approaching, the staff of the Office of Institutional Advancement is pressing forward to meet and exceed their participation rate goal of 52%
Each year the staff along with volunteers make an effort to contact alumni and friends of the university and urge them to follow through with pledges they previously made.
At the time of the phonathon, there were only 7 days left to meet this goal. The phonathon was the last step to achieve their goal by September 30, 2014.
If this years goal is met, UVI will maintain their designation of becoming the first Historically Black College and University to have met and maintain this rate.
Additionally, monies from the phonathon are used to fund areas of greatest need throughout the campuses. The annual fund supports a few areas that include: The Presidents Fund, Athletic, Academic, and International Scholarhsips, Summer Enrichment Programs,UVI Cell and other programs.
